It was while serving in the Air Corps during WWI that William Brand Beard met his wife, Victoria, in Scotland. After returning stateside and having a family of their own, they decided to build their dream home here in the style they fell in love with while touring the English countryside – pitched gables, exposed brick and mortar, delicate lead glass windows and rough hewn beams. There are also some details worth mentioning: three zone central air and heating, the separate laundry room, so much original wood moldings and trim, a detached two car garage with studio, and close proximity to the Oakmont Country Club.
